The Dream Year

When you finally get your chance to travel the world during your year off, this is the way it should be done. This is the dream year. If you don’t have the balls to take a trip like this, you need to take a lesson from the Australians, who do this sort of thing all the time! If you really can’t take a year, then break things up and do the trip over the period of a few years. But, just do it. It’ll be the best year of your life. I guarantee it.

January/February– Head to beach towns in Argentina— Pinamar, Villa Geselle and Mar de Plata. If you have time also hit Punte del Este in Uruguay, it’s a little more expensive, but worth it. Trust me on this one. Alternatively, if you are sick of the beach and scantly clad YP (why?) or are in the mood for some snow (why?), head to ski towns in Austria and France and try your luck in there. Rio de Janeiro and the towns in Brazil are a must during February, the month of Carnival. Remember, this is the biggest party on earth! Missing out on going once in your life is bad form, very bad form.

March— You absolutely, positively cannot miss the American spring break season. Head to Mexico, the Bahamas, Florida, Texas or Arizona. Better yet, sample a few different places. Afterwards, you will surely need take a break from spring break.

April—A slow month world-wide. Go to either Australia or somewhere in Asia for the month to recuperate from your own personal “March madness” and to warm up for the summer festivities.

May/June— Northern Europe. Hit Holland and Scandinavia before the girls hit the road for summer holiday. But don’t worry if you miss them. There are always some girls around. Besides you can always catch up with them later in Greece, Spain or the Riviera. Alternatively, head to American grad week in Cancun, south Florida, the Bahamas or North Carolina.

July/August— Definitely hit the beaches and vacation spots in Europe— Northern Spain, the Costa del Sol, Ibiza, the French Riviera, the Italian Riviera and Greek Islands along with some of the big tourist cities like Rome, Paris, Amsterdam, London and Madrid when traveling between beach towns. Remember there are a lot of good looking girls who will be traveling to these places in Europe during the summer time. They’ll be in the major cities along with everybody else, and may be easy prey.

September/October— travel around North America— Montreal, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Miami, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara and wherever else you may want to go. Fall is a great time to hit the big cities and college towns since the school session has just started, and the partying is fierce before the school year gets hectic.

November/December— Go home for the Holidays to sleep in your own bed and eat home-cooked meals for a change. Rest, recuperate and write me with stories of triumph during your travels.
